Arts Programme (Art OR Drama)

Programme Information

The Arts Programme specialization Art OR Drama at Int. Engelska Gymnasiet is an exciting and diverse pre-university program that prepares students for university studies in the humanities and liberal arts.

Students are also able to include a variety of electives within their programme of study including: Creative writing, Text & Communication, Ecology, Environmental Studies, Biotechnoloy, as well as Psychology. The school provides a full list of electives each year.

Programme Objectives

The Arts Programme seeks to develop the abilities of students to research, analyze, and communicate within the context of a wider awareness of the arts and humanities and its interaction with other scholarly disciplines. The goals of the Arts Programme are to:

  • acquaint students with the principal concepts and practices in the Arts
  • help students develop an understanding of the objectives and practica methods of the creative arts, as well as providing solid academic qualifications
  • develop the language skills of the students so that they can communicate at an appropriate level generally, and specifically, in the vocabulary of the liberal arts
  • equip the students with the capacity to establish relationships between the principal elements and concepts of the liberal arts
  • help students integrate the disciplinary knowledge into a coherent framework.

University / Careers

Graduating Int. Engelska Gymnasiet with the Arts Programme will give you the skills to pursue university studies in Sweden or abroad in the arts, humanities, as well as social sciences. If you are looking to further your interest in Art or Drama but also have the option of pursuing traditional academic studies within the liberal arts and humanities at university, this is the kind of programme you should be considering.

Interview / Audition Details for Drama

Students applying for the Social Science Programme + Drama are required to attend an audition. You will be expected to performa short monologue in English that you have prepared.
You can choose your own monologue text or use one of the following suggestions.

Audition Dates: Friday March 26, 2010.
