  • Mr Armstrong (Maths, Business). Mr Armstrong has worked for Internationella Engelska Skolan since 1993. He holds a BA in Economics (University of Victoria) and a teaching degree from the University of Alberta, Canada. He currently teaches Maths, Economics and P.E.
  • Dr Benedikz (School Principal, English). Dr Benedikz holds an MA from the University of New South Wales (Australia) and a PhD from Stockholm University. She worked as a university lecturer for ten years before taking up the position of Principal of IEGS. Dr Benedikz is a qualified teacher.
  • Ms Béjar (Spanish). Ms Béjar has a degree in Philosophy from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and a Masters in teaching Spanish as a foreign language from Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo. She is qualified to teach philosophy, Spanish as a foreign language and Spanish.
  • Mr Bjarnestam (Geography, Religion & History). Mr Bjarnestam is a qualified teacher from Lärahögskolan and a Licentiate from Uppsala University in Geography.
  • Mr Björnfot (Special Needs). Mr Björnfot is a qualified upper secondary teacher from SU/Lärarhögskolan (English, Swedish and Geography). He has worked for the last 7 years as a Special Educational Needs Teacher. He holds a Master’s Degree from SU in Special Education/Dyslexia. Amongst other things, Mr Björnfot has previously worked as a SEN teacher at IES Enskede.
  • Dr Buscall (Communications Officer / Text & Communication / English). Dr Buscall has a PhD in Writing (Liverpool John Moores), a Masters in Fiction (UEA) and a BA in Comparative Literature along with education. He was a lecturer at Turku University, Finland, and Stockholm University for 8 years before starting his own marketing & communications consultancy. He works part-time at IEGS.
  • Ms Castro (Spanish). She is a qualified language teacher from Cuba.
  • Ms Constantin-Toye (French & German). Ms Constantin-Toye has an MA in German from Université Toulouse II as well as a Research Diploma, DEA, Université Toulouse II. In addition, she also holds qualified teacher status in Sweden and France (C.A.P.E.S).
  • Dr Dimopoulous (Biology & Chemistry). Dr Dimopoulou has a Diploma of Education from Macquarie University, Sydney, and holds a PhD from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
  • Ms Engström (Secretary). Ms Engström is the school secretary.
  • Mr Foster (Biology & Math). Mr Foster has a Bachelors from Griffith University, Australia and a B.Education. He has taught in Australia and the UK before coming to Sweden.
  • Mr Frato (English/Project Work). Mr Frato has a master’s degree in English Literature (Stockholm University) as well as a master’s in education (Lärarhögskolan, Stockholm). Before coming to Sweden, he completed a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and worked as a visual artist, journalist and teacher in Philadelphia. He freelances as an editor and translator, and is the author of the bilingual novel Numera negerkung (King of the Cannibals, Kabusa 2009) and co-author and editor of a collective story cycle (X Publishing, spring 2012). He teaches creative writing and coordinates the school’s project-work program.
  • Mr Freestone (Custodian). Mr Freestone is from the UK. He is the school custodian.
  • Mr Gavin (Physical Education). He has a degree from Loughborough University (UK) and an MA in Geography from University of Nottingham. He is also a qualified teacher. He has taught at various schools in the UK and been an undergraduate tutor at Manchester University.
  • Ms Gavin (Pedagogical Leadership). Ms Gavin has a degree and teaching qualifications from the University of Warwick, UK. She has wide teaching experience from working in the UK.
  • Mr Glasser (Music). Mr Glasser has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, with a minor in Spanish, University of Massachusetts (UMass), Amherst.
  • Mr Hemingway (English, Philosophy). Mr Hemingway is from the UK. He holds a degree in English along with a teaching qualification. He teaches English and Philosophy. He is also Head of Department for Languages.
  • Mr Hill (English & Social Science). Mr Hill is originally from Scotland. He holds an MA in Political Science & European Studies from Dundee University. He has teacher training from Stockholm University/Lärarhögskolan (English & Civics)
  • Mr Jansson (Maths). Mr Jansson has a magister degree in Mathematics from Göteborg University. He was a a teaching assistant for one year at Chalmers University of Technology, a graduate student and teaching assistant for three years at Michigan State University and holds a M.Sc. in Mathematics from Michigan State University. He is currently studying part-time for a Swedish teaching certificate at Linköping University
  • Mr Jansson (Swedish). Mr Jansson is a qualified teacher from Stockholm University. He studied English/Swedish with a Magister degree in English. He currently teaches Swedish at IEGS.
  • Ms Jern (English & Swedish as a Foreign Language). Ms Jern has a BA in English, Religious Studies and French (Umeå) and a teaching qualification from LHS. She has also studied in France (Chambéry). Ms Jern lived in India twice; during 1994 and in 2008 when she worked at an American school in Mussoorie, India.
  • Mr Jones (Maths & Physics). He has a BSc in Physics with minors in Mathematics and Astronomy from Western Washington University. He did postgraduate work at the University of Oregon.
  • Mr Knox (Sports & Art). Mr Knox has a degree in Interior Design and Technology from the London Guildhall University, UK. Prior to joining IEGS he taught in both the UK and Sweden.
  • Mr Kouba (Director of Studies, French). Mr Kouba is Director of Studies. He is a qualified French teacher.
  • Mr Kühn (Art, Physical Education). Mr Kühn is from South Africa. He holds a BA in Physical Education and Geography, a Higher Diploma in Education and post-graduate qualifications in Psychology. In addition, Mr Kühn is a professional artist. He currently teaches Art and P.E.
  • Ms Lescamontier Banks (French). She has a degree in French Classics (17-18th century literature, Latin and Greek), Paris Sorbonne; a degree in English Studies (Literature, Civilisation and Linguistics), Paris Sorbonne-Nouvelle; an M.A in American Literature, Paris Sorbonne Nouvelle as well as teaching qualifications (Secondary and Higher Education), Paris Sorbonne-Nouvelle. She has also worked as a language and education attache at the French Embassy, Stockholm as well as London. Ms Lescamontier Banks is also a qualified professional translator and interpreter in French and English.
  • Ms Lindström (Drama). Ms Lindström has been based in Ireland for the last 12 years teaching and working with drama. She is a qualified Drama Pedagogue and holds a Higher Diploma in Comedial and Physical Theatre from Commedia School, Denmark. She has also attended Prague University where she took a qualification in Physical Theatre. In addition she has a higher diploma in drama pedagogy (Gävle University) as well as an honoury MA Dramatherapy from the National University of Ireland Maynooth.
  • Mr Maier (Student Councillor / Teacher). Mr Maier has a BA in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University and an M.Ed in School Counselling. He has worked in schools in the US and Sweden.
  • Ms Martin is the school nurse (Karolinska Instituttet). She has special training in Grief and Crisis Management, as well as Eating Disorders.
  • Ms Martinez(Spanish) Ms Martinz has a degree in Spanish and is a qualified teacher. She currently teaches Spanish at IEGS.
  • Mr Mason (Math & Physics). Mr Mason has a Bachelors from Auburn University, Alabama. He has also been trained by the US Airforce in Electornic Systems for Military Aircraft. Mr Mason has a Masters Degree in Education (Stockholm University).
  • Mr Mavinga (French). Mr Mavinga currently teaches French at IEGS.
  • Dr Miles (Maths). Dr Miles has a BSc, PGCE (teaching qualification) and PhD from the University of East Anglia (UEA) in the UK. He worked as a Wallenberg researcher at KTH and has taught at schools in the UK.
  • Dr Nell (Swedish & Latin) has a PhD and M.A. in Comparative Literature, Stockholm University. Her Masters degree also includes History of Antiquity, Art History, Cultural History, and Rhetoric. She has taught at university since 2002 and been a gymanasie teacher since 2008.
  • Mr Nicolas (Chemistry & Natural Science). Originally from the UK, Mr Nicolas has a BSc in Chemistry and Environmental Science from the University of Kent at Canterbury. He has a PGCE (teaching qualification) from the University of Essex and worked in the UK before coming to Sweden. He is also qualified to assess the Duke of Edinburg Award.
  • Ms Nordgren (Swedish, Italian). Ms Nordgren is currently completing her teaching qualifications after working in the theatre. She has lived in Italy, France and India for many years. She currently teaches Swedish and Italian.
  • Ms O’Connell (History, Geography, Art). Ms O’Connell is from Australia. She has a Bachelor of Creative Arts (BCA) in Art and History from the University of Southern Queensland. She also has a postgraduate teaching qualification also from Southern Queensland. She has extensive teaching experience having worked in schools in Australia, England and Sweden.
  • Mr Olson (Physics, Maths). Mr Olson is originally from Canada. He has an MA in Education and a BA in Mathematics from Lindenwood University. He has previously worked for IES Täby and Northern College in Canada.
  • Dr Pol (Maths, Philosophy, Physics). Dr Pol holds a MSc in Theoretical Physics and a PhD in Practical Philosophy. He is also a qualified teacher. He currently teaches Maths, Physics and Philosophy.
  • Ms Pope (English). Ms Pope is originally from the UK. She holds a Masters in American Literature from Keele University and an MA in Comparative & International Education (Stockholm University). She is also a qualified teacher. Ms Pope teaches English and World Literature at IEGS.
  • Dr Pratt (Chemistry, Natural Science, Maths). Dr Pratt holds a PhD from the University of Sussex. He has previously worked at Växjö University, Stockholm University and has been a Marie Curie Research Fellow in France.
  • Dr Quested (Biology). Dr Quested has a PhD in Plant and Soil Ecology (Sheffield University, UK) and a first degree in Biological Science (Oxford, UK). She has also been a post-doctoral researcher at Stockholm University and has also worked as a researcher at the Climate Impacts Research Centre, Abisko. She currently teaches Natural Science and Chemistry at IEGS.
  • Ms Sarre (School Counsellor). 

  • Dr Schafer (Biology, Chemistry, Cosmology). Dr Schafer is originally from the USA. He holds a PhD in Geology from UCL (UK). He has worked as a lecturer in the UK, Zambia, Malwi, USA. He has also worked as a field geologist all over the world. Dr Schafer is currently of Head of Department for the Natural Sciences. He teaches Chemistry, Cosmology, and Biology.
  • Dr Shein (Maths & Social Science). Dr Shein is an award-winning teacher from the USA. She has a PhD in Government & Politics from the University of Maryland, USA and a BA in Mathematics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
  • Ms Short (Math). Ms Short has a BA from Texas A & M University.
  • Ms Simister (English & Psychology). Ms Simister holds a Bachelor of Education, University of New Brunswick (Canada), and a Bachelor of Arts. She has also done a pedagogical certificate from Harvard Graduate School of Teaching.
  • Ms Muchardt Smith (History, Drama, English). Ms Muchardt Smith has an international background. She holds a BSc from the London School of Economics. She is a qualified teacher and is completing a Masters in Comparative International Education. Ms Muchardt Smith teaches English, History and Drama. She is Head of Department for Social Sciences.
  • Mr Spires (Assistant Principal). Originally from the UK, he holds a degree in Education & Sports Science as well as a Masters in Training.
  • Dr Tekle (Geography, Social Science & History). Dr Tekle is originally from Eritrea. He holds a PhD in Ecology Botany from Uppsala University. He is also a qualified teacher from Uppsala University and has a background in teaching and research.
  • Mr Theding (Swedish). Mr Theding studied to be a Senior High School teacher at Linköping University. He currently teaches Swedish and Civics.
  • Ms Thelander is the school librarian. Mr Thelander holds a Masters in Library and Information (Uppsala University).
  • Ms Constantine-Toye (French & German). Ms Constantine-Toye has a MA in German from Université Toulouse II as well as a Research Diploma, DEA, Université Toulouse II. In addition, she also holds qualified teacher status in France (C.A.P.E.S).
  • Ms Ulvgården (Swedish, Law, French). Ms Ulvgården holds a Jur kand degree from Stockholm University and is a qualified French and Swedish teacher (SU). Ms Ulvgården teaches Swedish, French and Law at IEGS.
  • Mr Wang (Math & IT Co-ordinator). Mr Wang has a Bachelors Degree from Beijing University in Computer Science and Technology. He also has teacher certification from Sichauan Normal University, China and is presently completing a Masters at KTH and Handelshögskolan.
  • Ms Widman (School economist and administrative co-ordinator).
  • Dr Whiteley (English & Philosophy). Dr Whiteley is from the UK and completed his BA, MA and PhD at the University of Manchester, UK. He has lectured at the University of Manchester and Liverpool John Moores University.
  • Mrs. Xu (Chinese teacher) is from Beijing. She holds a Bachelor Degree from Beijing Normal University (one of top 10 universities in China, and the best teachers’ university in China), and master degree from KTH. She has received complete training for teaching Chinese as second language and has many years of experience of teaching Chinese language in Sweden. She is a qualified teacher.
  • Dr Young (Biology, Biotechnology, & Microbiology & Genetics). He has a PhD in Biochemistry from Oregon State University. He has also worked as a researcher at Stockholm University, The University of Utah, and Karolinska Institutet.
