Time for the Summer of 25!

Finally, it is the last day of the school year and it is time for the summer of 25!

What a year it has been! We started the year by celebrating our 25th year anniversary, coming together as a whole school to make the number 25 in front of the school. We enjoyed cupcakes and recognising our achievements over the years. We extended a helping hand to Year 9 students from IES Skärholmen so they could share our school and have a place to learn and be part of so they could have a final year and graduate together. This symbiotic relationship worked well for both schools, and I see how we strengthened our learning community even more this year. From those early beginnings to now, a whole range of events, activities, teaching and learning has taken place. 

On June 3rd, we were one of the first schools in Södermalm to celebrate and bid farewell to their third year graduates. Congratulations to our IEGS class of 2025! This year’s graduation was special to many of us, as it is the year that we also know that we will be reducing in both student and staff size as we prepare for the closure in June 2026.

As the school year draws to a close, I reflect on the learning experiences and projects that have taken place this academic year, and I think of the visions and goals I had for our school in the beginning of the year. These and more, could not have happened without a great deal of commitment and support from you as students and from our fantastic staff team of teachers and administrators. For that I thank each of you for this amazing school year, and for making our school such a wonderful place to be each day.

So students and staff, the summer of 25 has arrived. Use this time to both reflect, evaluate and prepare for the next phase. Enjoy your summer break, you do deserve it. Rest, be safe, have fun and make memorable moments!
